    We talk about how Stem Cells might be able to help treat patients with Covid-19.

    The team are taking stem cells from the blood of some patients who are showing signs of lung complications and after working on these cells in the laboratory, they are administering them back to the same patients by inhalation.

    The science behind the processes has not yet been published. This is still a work in progress but so far it seems that the treatment is safe. It will take time to determine if this is of benefit to patients alongside treatments that they are already receiving.
